We are Hydra House, not Random House’s Hydra imprint.

In late 2012, launched a digital imprint called Hydra along with three other imprints (Flirt, Loveswept, and Alibi). Hydra House was launched in mid-2011, independently of any other publishers.

The SFWA-Hydra controversy in early 2013 arose when the Hydra contracts became public. For more details about this controversy, see the SFWA post about it.

It is unfortunate that the names are so similar, but please note that the companies are completely separate organizations.
